About Us

Our Purpose

To equip people to walk in sexual and relational wholeness through Jesus Christ,

by developing the ability to live either in fidelity within the covenant of marriage between a man and woman or chastity in singleness.

by finding freedom through the power of the Holy Spirit from obsessive sexual thoughts and compulsive sexual behavior.

by drawing upon God

Our Beliefs

We believe that

… the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, the final authority for truth, doctrine, correction, and instruction in right living.

… that faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord frees us from the mastery of sin, and its consequences of death and eternal separation from God. He assumed the penalty of death Himself, and enables us to live out of His resurrected life unto eternity.

… the Holy Spirit carries out the work of renewal in our lives, empowering us to grow in loving union with our Heavenly Father and to walk in obedience to His will.

… God created man and woman in His image, and our distinctive male and female identities are an essential part of His sacred plan.

… sexuality is a good gift from God.

… God intended all sexual relations to occur only between a man and woman united in marriage.

… change is possible, but requires a commitment to the process of healing and transformation.

Kathy Kipps, Director

It was January 14 years ago that the Lord led me to Greater Hope.  I’d had a career in the insurance industry and had been praying, Lord, where do you want me?  He just planted me at Greater Hope two weeks before the former director announced he was stepping down.

I love the Lord so much because of all He’s done for me – He loved me when I couldn’t love myself.  I so needed to be loved that I just couldn’t get enough of His love.  I’ve spent countless hours laying in God’s presence, soaking in his love, having Him wash over my hurts, going into those deep recesses.  I have been reckoned as the woman at the well who drank of the living water never to go back to her old way of life.  Just a few months before I came to work at Greater Hope, an evangelist spoke prophetically over me saying “Kathy, I see you on one side of a fence, and many people on the other side of that fence.  They want what you’ve got; they want the healing you’ve had.  I see you bringing people in by the wagonloads.  Oh, you’ll get your hands dirty, but you won’t care because it’s the Lord’s work.  Indeed, it has been an amazing journey watching God weave His tapestry in People’s lives!

Our Founding

An evangelical ministry promoting freedom from and healing for heterosexual and homosexual sin and brokenness.  Originally founded in 1995 as Day Seven, and re-established in 1998, Greater Hope operates under the direction of an interdenominational board of directors.  The work of Greater Hope is supported entirely by the 501 (c) (3) tax-deductible contributions from individuals and churches who share our vision for ministry.

In looking back to original founders; Green Mount Church of the Brethren, pastor Chip Leatherman was chair and host for most meetings.  Other churches involved include Leake’s Chapel COB, Dayton Mennonite, Mt Zion COB, Apostles Ministries, Cornerstone, Coventant Pres, Grace Covenant, Lindale Mennonite, First Pres.
